YOUR WORDS. YOUR EXPERIENCE.

TELL YOUR STORY

Write it or tell it aloud. Don’t remember every detail? Start with what you know. Use “Find your show” below to look for the date and place.

Find your show — need help with the date?

A band, a city and a rough year can be enough to start. Add what you remember above, then use those clues to research the show. You can leave this open while you write.

Search the web, or copy the request and paste it into ChatGPT. These open outside this site. Compare the sources before choosing a match; a suggested date is not a verified date.

No match? Choose “I don’t know yet” or give an approximate year. You can still share your story. Research details stay separate from your recollection.

A photo, ticket stub or flyer from your story. JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 5 MB. Only upload an image you have permission to share.

Submissions are reviewed before publication. Sending a story does not put it online automatically. Fields marked * are required.

ABOUT WRITE UP FRONT

The concert is the setting. The human experience is the subject.

Write Up Front collects firsthand experiences of live music, from the audience, the stage and behind the scenes. We want to preserve what happened and what it meant to the person who lived it—the stories that might otherwise disappear with an old post, a lost page or a fading memory. You don’t need to be famous to have a story worth keeping.

Founded by Brian LeMaster, Write Up Front is the companion to Right Up Front, home to his interviews, concert films and photographs.
